Wildlife Fixer | Filmmaker | Producer in Russia

George Schnipper
About George
Hi, I’m George — Georgy Lars Mazurov Schnipper — fluent in English, Russian, and Danish, with a Zoology degree from Bangor University in the UK. For over 8 years, I've been telling stories about Russia's wild places. I have worked on blue-chip films as well as on documentaries exploring the connection between humans and nature, both independently and in teams. These works have been shown in cinemas, at festivals, on TV, and on VOD platforms. I currently work as a co-producer at LESFILM alongside Russia's leading wildlife scientists, underwater, long-lens, and macro video operators, sound recordists and other fantastic experts.

I have planned and carried out shoots for PBS and two Netflix series in Northern (Yakutia, Arkhangelsk, Nenetsk) and Far Eastern (Chukotka, Kamchatka, Kolyma) regions of Russia. I've licensed footage to the BBC Springwatch programme, conducted research for wildlife stories in Russia, written scripts for a pop-sci channel on YouTube, and have worked as a camera operator during an expedition to the deserts of Uzbekistan. I stay in contact with several leading scientists across Russia and some former countries of the USSR.

I have experience filming long-lens and aerial footage. In my free time, I lead birding and reptile tours. I am a big fan of reptiles and amphibians.

I’ve worked with Netflix, BBC, PBS, and more, leveraging deep connections and unparalleled access to Russia's protected areas from Chukotka to Kamchatka. Wildlife Fixer in Russia: Extensive experience and contacts in Russia and Uzbekistan. Wildlife Producer in Russia: Bringing cinematic wildlife stories to life. Wildlife Cameraman in Russia: Capturing breathtaking footage in the harshest terrains. Whether it's the remote wilderness of the Russian Far East, Southern Dagestan, the Plains of Kalmykia, the Central forests with bison, the untouched virgin Northern boreal forests/taiga or the tundra and the Arctic or Yakutia and Chukotka, I have the experience and know-how to bring your wildlife film projects to life.
Ready to bring your wildlife film project to Russia? Reach out and let’s discuss how we can collaborate.
